The Program Coordinator will assist the associate director and senior program coordinator with all aspects of CAWP’s education and training programs, specifically Ready to Run® and NEW Leadership™, as well as with the national networks developed to extend the reach of these programs. Specific responsibilities will include: researching and recommending topics and speakers; participant and speaker communications; speaker invitations and follow-up; compiling speaker bios and audiovisual requests; participant recruitment; arranging conference space, catering, and speaker transportation; implementation of outreach plans; and implementation and compilation of program evaluations and surveys. Assists in developing schedules and assignments for interns for program related tasks. Other general responsibilities include: gathering information and materials in support of CAWP programs and development activities; drafting text and helping develop graphics to deliver CAWP's message through social media, infographics, and web content. S/he will also assist with other CAWP programs as needed, particularly with logistics and materials for conferences and events.
The successful applicant will have a bachelor's degree in political science, women’s/gender studies, or a closely related field. The position requires a strong understanding of American politics at all levels. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must. Must have professional experience in event management. Proficiency in Windows and MS Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Must be reliable, well-organized and efficient. Must be very detail oriented. Travel, in-state and possibly national, will be required in this job, and the program coordinator must have a car available for in-state travel. Will include occasional evening and weekend hours and will be required to live at the University Inn for the duration of the six day NEW Leadership™ New Jersey program.
