Women's Programs at Rutgers

  • Center for Women and Work at the School of Management and Labor Relations is dedicated to advancing women across the education, income, ethnic, and occupational spectrums, and to challenging the status quo in organizations that educate, train, and employ them. The Center addresses these issues through research, education, skills development, outreach, and advocacy.
  • The Center for Women's Global Leadership (Global Center) develops and facilitates women's leadership for women's human rights and social justice worldwide.
  • Department of Women's and Gender Studies has grown from a few courses offered at the University in 1973 to become one of the strongest interdisciplinary graduate and undergraduate programs in the United States.  Faculty members expertise in Women's and Gender studies is enriched by specializations in the arts, anthropology, comparative literatures in English, French, and Spanish, philosophy, political science, and sociology.
  • Douglass Residential College at Rutgers University prepares undergraduate women for leadership roles in an increasingly diverse, competitive, and global public arena.
  • Institute for Research on Women promotes innovative scholarship on women and gender by hosting interdisciplinary seminars, lectures, symposia and conferences that bring together Rutgers University researchers with top visiting scholars from the U.S. and abroad.
