Campaign Trainings for Women

Pipeline to Politics
Sponsored by the Carl Albert Center’s Women’s Leadership Program at the University of Oklahoma
Pipeline to Politics is a biennial program that serves women interested in stepping up their political and civic engagement by running for office, working on a campaign, or becoming more involved in community-based issues and organizations. The one-day nonpartisan training program is designed primarily for women who are beyond college and/or in the workforce and features workshops led by political and policy experts. Pipeline to Politics is a part of the Ready to Run™ National Training Network of the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) at Rutgers University (NJ).

Campaign Trainings (women and men)

American Majority
Founded in 2008, American Majority is a national non-profit, nonpartisan training institute with national headquarters in Purcellville, VA and state offices in Arkansas, Kansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Texas. American Majority programs bring the expertise and knowledge base of national politicos, campaign strategists, communication consultants, and seasoned organizers directly into local communities with four tracks of training: Candidate Training, Activist Training, Campus Majority, and the Fellowship Program. Each track offers a number of unique courses to prepare participants to run for office or work for campaigns or in politics. Campaign Management Training Seminar
Sponsored by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau offers a campaign management training for candidates for public office, their spouses and campaign managers, as well as prospective candidates and campaign managers considering races in future cycles. The two-day training uses content developed by the American Farm Bureau with input from political consultants and staff of both national political parties. Program curriculum is applicable to local, state and national political races and content includes
  • evaluating the viability of the candidacy;
  • selecting themes and issues; 
  • budgeting and raising money;
  • working with the news media;
  • and campaign organization and strategy.

Campaign School

Leadership Training Programs For Women

NEW Leadership™ Oklahoma
Sponsored by the Carl Albert  Center’s Women’s Leadership Program at the University of Oklahoma
NEW Leadership™ Oklahoma is a weeklong residential institute that educates women college students and inspires them to get involved in the political process. During the program selected students meet with women in a variety of roles in the public sphere, learn about women’s political participation, explore ideas about leadership and politics, and participate in hands-on skills building exercises. NEW Leadership™ Oklahoma is part of the NEW Leadership™ Development Network of the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) at Rutgers University (NJ).

Leadership Training Programs (women and men)

Leadership Oklahoma
Established in 1986, Leadership Oklahoma is an annual program bringing together 50 of the state's most outstanding leaders for ten issues-oriented sessions that address critical challenges facing the state. Participants are selected from across the state and from various sectors, and each person must demonstrate a dedication to Oklahoma's progress and the ability to exercise leadership in recognizing and resolving issues of statewide significance.

Leadership Oklahoma City
Leadership Oklahoma City is an organization dedicated to increasing the number and skills of community leaders in the Oklahoma City region. Through its programming, the organization educates individuals about community needs and opportunities, trains them in skills necessary for community leadership, and provides networking opportunities. Leadership Oklahoma City's Signature Program is a 10-month-long series of once-monthly day-long classes, each focusing on a different community issue. Up to 45 class members are selected annually.

Leadership Tulsa
Leadership Tulsa is a nonprofit organization promoting leadership development and community engagement. The flagship Leadership Tulsa adult program is a nine-month program for area professionals to build leadership strength, learn about the issues and needs of the city of Tulsa, and develop skills to lead in the city's public and private sectors. Approximately 45 applicants are chosen annually to participate in once-monthly meetings on these topics. Leadership Tulsa also offers an executive leadership program for top-level executives.

Oklahoma Federation of Republican Women
Through affiliate chapters in nearly every state, the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) promotes the principles, objectives and policies of the Republican Party; elects Republican candidates; informs the public through political education and activity; and increases the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government. In working toward these objectives, the NFRW concentrates its efforts in the areas of educating, communicating, recruiting, campaigning, fundraising, training and legislative action.
