Emerge Nevada

Emerge Nevada is a political leadership training program for Democratic women, part of the Emerge America network. The Emerge mission is to identify, educate, and inspire Democratic women who want to pursue careers in politics at the local and state levels. Fifteen to 25 applicants are chosen annually to participate in once-monthly weekend meetings and workshops over the course of six months.

The Silver State Series
The Silver State Series is an expansion program of the Richard C. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series, founded in 1989 to encourage, mentor and prepare selected Republican women leaders to seek new levels of involvement in government and politics. The Series seeks to expand the number of Nevada Republican women who serve in elected office, on boards and commissions, and in key positions on campaign, political and government staffs by providing education and training about government, campaigns, and leadership.

Leadership Training Programs For Women
NEW Leadership™ Nevada
Sponsored by the Women's Research Institute, University of Nevada, Las Vegas
NEW Leadership™ Nevada is a six-day summer institute that brings together 25 college students from across the state to learn about women's leadership and civic participation from accomplished women leaders. Students meet formally and informally with these leaders through a series of panels, lectures, and interactive workshops and create lasting networks and mentoring relationships. Graduates are supported throughout their future endeavors by WRIN, the group's growing alumnae network, and their community partners. NEW Leadership™ Nevada is part of the NEW Leadership™ Development Network of the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) at Rutgers University (NJ).

Leadership Henderson

Leadership Henderson is an eight-month program devoted to educating and empowering civic-minded professionals with a goal of building and maintaining a strong network of effective community leaders. Participants learn through interactive experiences involving simulations, panel discussions with experts and established community leaders, plus exclusive tours on location with industry leaders in areas such as government, gaming, tourism, business, industry, health, education and social services that affect the residents and businesses of Henderson. Full-day classes are held once a month at various locations throughout the community.

Established in 1986, Leadership Las Vegas is a ten-month program devoted to strengthening and educating community leaders throughout Southern Nevada. . Forty-eight applicants are selected annually to participate in once-montly sessions and program events addressing topics such as:
- the history of Las Vegas
- gaming and tourism news
- government and politics insights
- media and the entertainment scene
- business outlooks
- technology growth
- local education infrastructure
- growth forecast and real estate
- construction trends
- health care.
The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce also offers FOCUS Las Vegas, an accelerated, two-day integration into and understanding of the inner workings of the Las Vegas Valley.

Nevada Federation of Republican Women
Through affiliate chapters in nearly every state, the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) promotes the principles, objectives and policies of the Republican Party; elects Republican candidates; informs the public through political education and activity; and increases the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government. Nevada NOW

Founded in 1966, the National Organization for Women (NOW) is the largest organization of feminist activists in the United States whose goal is to take action to bring about equality for all women. NOW is a multi-issue, multi-strategy organization that takes a holistic approach to women's rights. The organization's official priorities are winning economic equality and securing it with an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that will guarantee equal rights for women; championing abortion rights, reproductive freedom and other women's health issues; opposing racism and fighting bigotry against lesbians and gays; and ending violence against women. NOW has over 550 chapters in all 50 states that participate in education and advocacy activities. Information on state and local chapters of NOW is available on the national NOW website and through state chapters.
