Campaign Trainings (women and men)

American Majority
Founded in 2008, American Majority is a national non-profit, nonpartisan training institute with national headquarters in Purcellville, VA and state offices in Arkansas, Kansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Texas. American Majority programs bring the expertise and knowledge base of national politicos, campaign strategists, communication consultants, and seasoned organizers directly into local communities with four tracks of training: Candidate Training, Activist Training, Campus Majority, and the Fellowship Program. Each track offers a number of unique courses to prepare participants to run for office or work for campaigns or in politics. Arkansas GOP Campaign Training

The Republican Party of Arkansas provides a number of campaign and grassroots training programs throughout the state and at different points of the year. These programs are generally open to the public, but there are also specific private trainings for recruited candidates. These are typically day-long programs.

Campaign Management Training Seminar
Sponsored by the Arkansas Farm Bureau
The Arkansas Farm Bureau offers a campaign management training titled "How to Win a Campaign" for candidates for public office, their spouses and campaign managers, as well as prospective candidates and campaign managers considering races in future cycles. The two-day training uses content developed by the American Farm Bureau with input from political consultants and staff of both national political parties. Program curriculum is applicable to local, state and national political races and content and includes: evaluating the viability of the candidacy; selecting themes and issues;  budgeting and raising money; working with the news media; and campaign organization and strategy.

Leadership Training Programs (women and men)

Leadership Arkansas
Sponsored by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and Associated Industries of Arkansas
Created by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and Associated Industries of Arkansas, Inc., Leadership Arkansas identifies and trains individuals with the passion and commitment to become personally engaged in issues, programs and activities aimed at building a better Arkansas. Over a nine month period, about 45 participants receive the equivalent of a post graduate degree in “how Arkansas works” in a monthly program that allows them to see first-hand the challenges and accomplishments of local communities. Leadership Arkansas is also supported by the Arkansas General Assembly, with the former Speaker of the House serving as a class chairman and members of the General Assembly participating in the classes.

Organizations Committed to Political Parity

Arkansas Federation of Democratic Women
The National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) supports the inclusion of women’s voices in the Democratic Party. With 32 chapters nationwide, the NFDW promotes Democratic Party goals and candidates and works to unite women party members behind them. NFDW chapters recognize potential women candidates and encourage their candidacies for office.   Members attend meetings, organize educational and political events, volunteer for campaigns, and support candidates for office.

Arkansas Federation of Republican Women
Founded in 1948 and affiliated with the NFRW in 1955, the Arkansas Federation of Republican Women has sponsored campaign management schools and training for poll watchers and workers. AFRW's goals are to grow the grassroots membership, to continue to bring women into Republican politics, to encourage them to run for office, and to make Arkansas a totally red state from the quorum court to the Governor's Mansion and the White House.

Arkansas NOW
Sponsored by the National Organization for Women
Founded in 1966, the National Organization for Women (NOW) is the largest organization of feminist activists in the United States whose goal is to take action to bring about equality for all women. NOW is a multi-issue, multi-strategy organization that takes a holistic approach to women's rights. The organization's official priorities are winning economic equality and securing it with an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that will guarantee equal rights for women; championing abortion rights, reproductive freedom and other women's health issues; opposing racism and fighting bigotry against lesbians and gays; and ending violence against women. NOW has over 550 chapters in all 50 states that participate in education and advocacy activities. Information on state and local chapters of NOW is available on the national NOW website and through state chapters.
