Arizona Emerge, part of the Emerge America Network, is a political leadership training program for Democratic women in Arizona. The Emerge mission is to identify, educate, and inspire Democratic women who want to pursue careers in politics at the local and state levels. Fifteen to 25 applicants are chosen annually to participate in once-monthly meetings and workshops over the course of seven months.

The Dodie Londen Series
The Dodie Londen Series is an expansion program of the Richard C. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series, founded in 1989 to encourage, mentor and prepare selected women leaders to seek new levels of involvement in government and politics. The Arizona program began in 2007 to increase the number and influence of Arizona's Republican women in government and politics. Up to twenty applicants are accepted each year to participate in eight monthly day-long sessions where participants learn from experts and hands-on activities and have the opportunity to network with key Republican leaders, preparing them to assume decision-making positions through appointment and/or election at the local, state, and national levels.

Progressive Majority Candidate Recruitment and Development Program
Sponsored by Progressive Majority
Launched in 2004, Progressive Majority's Candidate Recruitment and Development Program works to recruit progressive leaders to public service by providing political campaign support and pragmatic skills training. Candidates for state and local offices identified, recruited, and supported by Progressive Majority are trained through both small-group sessions and one-on-one support.

Leadership Training Programs (women and men)
Arizona Center for Civic Leadership
The Arizona Center for Civic Leadership includes the Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Academy, the Arizona Civic Leadership Collaborative, and an ongoing communications campaign to increase civic involvement and leadership. The twice-yearly Civic Leadership Academy complements existing local and regional leadership-training programs in Arizona, but is differentiated by its focus on state-level issues and leadership and emphasis on mentoring, plans, and follow-up support.

Arizona Center for Progressive Leadership
The Center for Progressive Leadership offers two types of trainings in locations throughout the country. The State Political Leaders Fellowship recruits, trains, mentors, and connects promising political leaders and future candidates in target states like Arizona. The Fellowship consists of nine months of intensive political training, coaching, mentorship, and networking events to provide 40-60 fellows with the skills, resources, knowledge, and relationships needed to become effective future candidates, organizational leaders, and activists in their communities. CPL also offers Springboard Trainings to provide activists, political staff, and future candidates with the skills and resources needed to build long-term political power in their region. These one-time trainings also serve as pre-trainings for the Fellowship programs.

Leadership Tuscon

Greater Tucson Leadership exists to inform, educate and sensitize current and emerging leaders about key issues affecting Greater Tucson and to encourage public dialogue and involvement within the community. The Leadership Education Program is held in the spring and fall each year. Classes are held every other Friday for five months. Classes in the spring run January through May, and in the fall August through December. Each program begins with an overnight retreat. Locations for class meetings vary based upon the topic for the day. Each class contains approximately 35 students. The faculty is drawn from recognized Tucson leaders, and the program is presented with a nonpartisan and impartial approach to critical community issues.

Mesa Leadership Training and Development Program

The Mesa Leadership Training and Development Program works to cultivate leadership through education, exposure to the community, and interaction between class members. Through ten once-monthly seminars, particpants learn about area issues like history, business and economics, criminal justice, city government, the arts, education, social issues, and leadership. Participants meet and shadow area leaders, and many have gone on to pursue public office, serve on city boards and commissions, and/or serve as community leaders in other sectors.

Scottsdale Leadership
Founded in 1987, Scottsdale Leadership offers a core nine-month community leadership development program. Forty participants are selected each year to learn about the issues facing Scottsdale, develop the leadership skills needed to make an impact, and build a network of resources to help them effect change. Programs sessions occur one day every other week, ranging from education presentations and field trips to participation in class or community projects.

The National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) supports the inclusion of women’s voices in the Democratic Party. With 32 chapters nationwide, the NFDW promotes Democratic Party goals and candidates and works to unite women party members behind them. NFDW chapters recognize potential women candidates and encourage their candidacies for office. Members attend meetings, organize educational and political events, volunteer for campaigns, and support candidates for office.

Arizona Federation of Republican Women

Arizona NOW

Founded in 1966, the National Organization for Women (NOW) is the largest organization of feminist activists in the United States whose goal is to take action to bring about equality for all women. NOW is a multi-issue, multi-strategy organization that takes a holistic approach to women's rights. The organization's official priorities are winning economic equality and securing it with an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that will guarantee equal rights for women; championing abortion rights, reproductive freedom and other women's health issues; opposing racism and fighting bigotry against lesbians and gays; and ending violence against women. NOW has over 550 chapters in all 50 states that participate in education and advocacy activities. Information on state and local chapters of NOW is available on the national NOW website and through state chapters.
Arizona Women in Blue promotes Democratic women's political voices on issues of importance to Arizona women. The group:
- organizes the annual Women In Blue Day at the Arizona Legislature
- hosts regional forums focusing on women’s issues in Arizona
- encourages the participation of Democratic women in community organizing
- facilitates greater communication among Democratic women in Arizona; and
- organizes community projects aimed at improving the quality of life for women in Arizona.
