NEW Leadership Development Network (NLDN)

NEW Leadership is a tremendous program, with a proven track record of building women leaders.
     Governor Barbara Roberts
     Chair, NEW Leadership™ Oregon
       advisory board

The Development Network is CAWP’s initiative to expand the NEW Leadership™ program to colleges and universities across the United States. Since 1999, CAWP has been developing partnerships with educational institutions to help them plan and initiate NEW Leadership™ programs on their home campuses.

The NEW Leadership™ Development Network currently includes 18 colleges and universities across the country. To date, more than 3500 students from over 21 states have participated in regional NEW Leadership™ programs for college women, as well as the flagship program in New Jersey. NLDN partners are helping to fulfill and expand the mission of NEW Leadership™ by adding their own expertise and making the program’s benefits available to college women across the United States. Each year CAWP selects up to three schools to join the Development Network.

From my own conversations with NEW Leadership participants I have learned first hand how this program inspires and empowers young women to enter public service. NEW Leadership reflects the values of… public service, the value of community and diversity, and the need to invest in the future leadership through education.
    David L. Boren
    President, University of Oklahoma
