NEW Leadership™ New Jersey is scheduled for June 7 - 12, 2012 at the Eagleton Institute of Politics on the New Brunswick campus of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.
Apply online here or download the application here (pdf) and mail.
Application deadline is March 28, 2012.
Eligibility
NEW Leadership™ New Jersey is open to undergraduate students enrolled in any New Jersey college or
university and New Jersey residents enrolled in out-of-state schools.
CAWP is committed to including
women from diverse socioeconomic, ethnic, racial and educational backgrounds in each NEW
Leadership™ program. We strongly encourage women of color, nontraditional college women, and
students majoring in fields outside political science to apply.
Cost
NEW Leadership™ is supported by donations from corporate sponsors and individuals that cover some of the program costs. Each participating college and university is asked to pay a $500 program fee per student, so there is no direct cost to students. Housing, food, and all program materials are provided for the full six days of the program.
Applicants are required to provide contact information for a faculty or staff member at their school who agrees to assist them in obtaining funding for the NEW Leadership™ program fee, should they be selected for the program. A limited number of scholarships will be available to students who are unable to obtain sponsorship from their schools.
If you attend one of the following schools, click on the school name below for the contact person who
has agreed to assist students in covering the $500 program fee.
|
If your school is not listed here, before completing
the NEW Leadership™ application, you should look for an office on your campus that can help secure funding.
Offices that have helped students attend include: Alumni Association, Student Activities Office, Dean of Students, campus leadership program. These are only examples, and you may find others on your campus who can help. |
Commitment
NEW Leadership™ New Jersey participants are expected to attend all summer institute sessions
and live in the residence halls during the entire program June 7 - 12, 2012. In completing this
application, you acknowledge that you are aware of these requirements and agree, if accepted, to make
every effort to meet this commitment.
