Education and Training

NEW Leadership™ New Jersey is a residential program that gives college women the knowledge and skills to become effective leaders in politics, public policy and public service.  Each year approximately 35 students from colleges and universities across New Jersey are selected to attend. NEW Leadership™ New Jersey is scheduled for June 7 - 12, 2012 at the Eagleton Institute of Politics on the New Brunswick campus of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Applications are available here. Application deadline is March 28, 2012.

NEW Leadership™ New Jersey was held on June 9 - 14, 2011. Senator Mary Landrieu was the keynote speaker at this event. Video below:

During the NEW Leadership™ New Jersey summer institute students will:

• Meet with successful women leaders to discuss politics, public policy and the importance of women’s leadership.
• Participate in skills-building workshops on networking, public speaking and strategic communication.
• Network with a diverse group of women who share a commitment to shaping the public agenda and making a difference in their communities.
• Practice leadership through action.
