About CAWP

* Honoring Women Who've Changed Your Life *
Good Housekeeping Award for Women in Government and
Good Housekeeping/Wyeth Award for Women's Health

Each year from 1998 through 2005, Good Housekeeping magazine and the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) provided awards to honor women in government – elected or appointed officials, career civil servants, or members of the military – whose work exemplified how government improves people's lives. The top winner received an award of $25,000 and six other winners received $2,500.

Good Housekeeping/Wyeth Award for Women's Health
In addition to those awards, the Good Housekeeping/Wyeth Award for Women's Health carried an award of $25,000 for a woman in government whose work centers on women's health. This award will specifically highlighted a woman in government whose program or achievement advanced the status of women's health.

These awards are no longer offered because the grant support has ended. Information about past winners is available below.
