Each
year from 1998 through 2005, Good Housekeeping magazine and the Center
for American Women and Politics (CAWP) provided awards to honor women in government elected
or appointed officials, career civil servants, or members of
the military whose work exemplified how government
improves people's lives. The top winner received an award of $25,000
and six other winners received $2,500.
Good
Housekeeping/Wyeth Award for Women's Health
In addition to those awards, the Good Housekeeping/Wyeth Award
for Women's Health carried an award of $25,000 for a woman in government
whose work centers on women's health. This award will specifically
highlighted a woman in government whose program or achievement advanced
the status of women's health.
