Women in State Legislature
 

Arizona
Nancy Young Wright (D-26) was appointed to the state House of Representatives to fill a vacancy.

Missouri
Michele Kratky (D-65) and Mary C. Kasten (R-158) won special elections on February 5, 2008 to the House of Representatives to fill a vacancies.

Arizona - 30 (17D, 13R) women or 33.3%, now ranked 6th.
Missouri - 40 (28D, 12R) women or 20.3%, now ranked 30th.

Other resulting changes in state rank:
Hawaii now 7th
Michigan now 31st
Georgia/Rhode Island now tied for 32nd.

Total Women in state legislatures: 1,744 (1,195D, 536R, 9NP, 3Prg, 1Ind.), or 23.6%.
